Open Air Studios is a fine art school for children in Venice. During the course of a 10 week session, children explore a wide variety of media and will create both two and three-dimensional works. Using acrylic, tempera and watercolor paints and inks, printing materials and clay as well as found objects and materials from nature, children are encouraged to express themselves creatively. Age appropriate instruction in color mixing, shading, and perspective drawing is incorporated into the course. Children are not taught to draw and paint in a formulaic manner, rather, each child is encouraged to find his/her own style and to enjoy the process of creating art.
